Five Question Friday

 1. What have you done recently that you are proud of?

Does scrubbing the bathroom floor and finishing laundry count?  Otherwise, finally choosing not to allow how other people act bother me anymore. Most people say they don't allow this to happen but in honesty most people do. There comes a point where you have to say enough is enough. Let them be the fools and worry about what's important.

2. What is your favorite way to work out? Or if you don't workout, what are you wanting to try?

For those who don't know me all that well... I refuse to force myself to actually "work out". My workout is chasing my little ones around... that's more than enough exercise
.
3. If you knew you best friend was cheating on spouse would you tell?

No. She chooses how she wants to handle things and I'll stand by her side no matter what her choice is. She is one of  the few people that I completely trust and would never break it for the world. If her spouse was cheating on her, I'd tell her in a heartbeat.

4. If you could afford a live-in maid or nanny, would you have one?

A maid, yes. I dream of having one. A nanny is out of the question. It is my job to take care of my children, not someone else's.

5. Do you stress out about birthdays (specifically the age) or do you enjoy them?

To me birthday is just another day. The only thing I worry about is getting grey hair.

Gotta have some Scentsy....

For those of you who haven't heard of or tried Scentsy, February is the month to do it! Almost everything in the catalog is 10% off!
What is Scentsy? It's not a candle or plug-in air freshener it's better! It all starts with a warmer for your home. There are several different types. They plug into the wall, either like a plug-in or by the cord. A cube or two of wax is placed in the bowl and it's warmed to a perfect temperature to release a scent. Scents which come in a HUGE variety. You wouldn't believe the different kinds of scents there are. My all time favorite is Black Raspberry Vanilla... to die for! There are other products available such as items for your vehicle, locker, or office. My kids favorite are the Scentsy buddies, they double as little friends who guard my kids teeth while waiting for the tooth fairy.

If any of these items are part of your favorite's collection or if you've been wanting one... get it before they're gone! They'll be gone as of March 1st!

Discontinued Scents:
If you have any questions or need to place an order, let me know! I'd love to help!

Sunday Confessional

I'm not the type of person who likes to open up and share any personal information, whether it's good or bad. I'm a very secretive person. So, we'll see how this goes. :/

1. I am the biggest clutz and I'm prone to do ridiculously stupid things. For instance; while jumping on a trampoline when I was in my early teens, I managed to bite a hole almost all the way through my tongue. I was completely terrified -blood was gushy out of it and as you can imagine it was a pretty nasty sight.

2. I am quite picky when it comes to food, especially the way my sandwiches are made. If they're not made correctly, I refuse to eat them.

3. I've never officially broken a bone... only my nose. While a youngster I decided it was a GREAT idea to get on a broom and go down my grandmother's stairs. What a stupid idea. I now have to deal with a messed up nose that I can't breathe out of one side because I refuse to go to a doctor to see about getting it fixed.

4. I am an avid nail bitter. I have tried multiple approches in order to quit with all ending in failure. I have managed to grow them out a few times but ended up biting them off. Beautiful nails just aren't in my future.

5. I am an awesome cook but I can't bake for the life of me. For my son's 8th birthday in March, I've decided that I'm going to "try" to make him a cake. I'm going to do a test run in Feb. to make sure I don't completely screw it up. So, any of you who are awesome bakers, please feel free to share any tips!!!

Inspiration....

I have been a fan of  Lil Blue Boo on facebook for quite some time. The owner Ashley makes extremely cute clothing and started my fascination with upcycled clothing. Some day I hope to create some for my own kids, when things finally settle down. For some unknown reason I've never read her blog. It blows my mind. How did I miss such an awesome blog? She has creative DIY projects that are pratical and super cute! Any who... I happened to end up on her blog. Not only is this woman a wonderful creater she's also battling a rare form of cancer. -Cancer has been something that has hit close to home far too many times. Ashley's video "A Rite of Passage" is a simple video she created to document the milestone of her hair loss. Prior to shaving her own hair her mom had shaved her head. The video is so simple but brought tears to my eyes. I pray for Ashley's health and other's who are battling the awful disease! Ashley's blog can be found here.

Ashley's moto is Choose Joy. It's a reminder that no matter what life has thrown at you, you have the choice to choose joy.

Shopping?

When did my idea of shopping start meaning grocery shopping?

I remember prior to kids I would go shopping every other weekend for myself. I would buy whatever my eyes could see and never thought twice about the price of an item. Boy have times changed.

Now I feel like the only shopping I do is for groceries. Perhaps it's because my kids eat everything in the house within days. Today I felt like one of the gals off of tv who do the mad coupon shopping before leaving for the store. I searched the web for coupons to match sale prices at the local grocery store, clipped them, marked down the items I needed in the sale ad, and was on my way.

Even when shopping doesn't include groceries, I'm always trying to score deals for my kids. I realize they have FAR too many clothes and toys but when I see a good deal and it's extremely cute, I can't pass it up and if I do, I feel guilty. People have told me to stop worrying about them because they're okay and it never clicks.

So, I've decided that when the tax return arrives, I will be getting something for myself and won't second guess it. I'm almost certain the something I chose for myself will be something small because I'm frugal; otherwise known as cheap. :)

The evil in my life.

Besides my family being a huge role in my life there's also one other thing that contributes to the person I am today... Crohn's Disease. The name itself makes me cringe.

Since being diagnosed in 2004 my weight has been a constant battle. I managed to drop down to 80 pounds while doing a study and was admitted into Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
A few months before being admitted.

Needless to say I was removed from the study and was soon pumped full of prednisone. The medication made me full of energy, reduced any symptoms I was having, and even helped me gain an appetite. However, that appetite consisted of A LOT of peanut butter. A lot meaning a jar of it a day. Since I was inhaling just about anything I could lay my eyes on I began swelling up like a balloon.

After packing on some pounds I was eventually told to watch what I was eating, especially foods high in sodium. Luckily my chipmunk phase only lasted a year or so.

Fast foward to today... I'm still battling with my weight. I'm lucky if I max out at 100 pounds. I often get told how lucky I am to be so skinny after having three kids. If people only realized what is causing me to stay this thin. I don't do it by choice and I sure don't like the method which is keeping me this way.

Definition of me.

My name is Becky Bain -born in 1984.  I'm terrible at grammer and punctuation and try my best to spell everything correct even if that means I have to google the proper spelling. I am often too nice or honest, never at the same time. I talk about things people would rather not hear and I don't care.

I love being crafty but I usually start something and lose interest in it quickly or never finish what I started. Some of those crafts being: crochetting, scrapbooking, and making bows. I also sell Scentsy which I'm addicted to! It makes your entire house smell delcious and is super reasonable! You know you want some. ;)

I'm a stay at home mom to my three wild kids -Evyn(7), Rachel(5), & Leo(1). They consume just about each and every minute of my day and I could care less. Spending time away from them is foreign, it makes me uncomfortable, and all I can do is talk about them when they're gone.

I've been dating Scott since 2008. He has two beautiful girls, J. & B. Yes that's a total of five between the two of us. We might as well go for another boy so we can become the Brady Bunch.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease a few months after Evyn was born. It sucks, I hate it, and wouldn't wish it on my worse enemy. There's nothing I can do about it but suck it up and deal with it day to day.
